There are many rules to play in the NWC. One thing to get out of the way is to say that I use my PS2's WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 video game to show all my characters. This method I thought was easy but trying to put together a show took alot of time and patience.
By using the video game I have created an alternate world of professional wrestling. This shows the characters personality, build, and mannerisms that you wouldn't get with other e-wrestling sites.
Not only do you see your character but the other use of the video game is when the in ring action takes place. The outcome is determined by the computer simulator in the game. I set both characters on computer AI, then watch and take photos. Whoever wins the match I build a story out of it. In no way do I manipulate the outcome.
I first set the characters statistics, (strength, submission, technical, speed, etc.) Then I send them off to fight against another character. It is determined by whoever attributes are stronger than the other. But on some occasions the weaker opponent will win. If this happens it will still be put in our record books. There will be no tampering with that either.
When a character is created and the attributes are put on the character, they will not have enough attribute points to fill up their entire statistics. This will make a character weaker than another. But all already existing characters that I have created do not have every thing filled neither. Some have more than others.
A character like Chris Williams has alot of attribute points because I have focused on him being one of my top guys. But he still is not filled up.
In order to fill up a character, that players character must win a match. Then I will manually play the character in the game to gain the character points. If a character does not win that weeks match, no points will be given. And he or her will suffer because he or she will be weaker than someone else.
Got it? No? Well let me take you step by step on sending in your characters statistics...
In order to send me a character to play you must email me all information that is requested. The more descriptive you are, the more your character will look the way you imagined.
You can email me from the site or you can send a message with the info on the myspace page. Either way I will be able to receive it. You must also send a returning email address too, so I can inform you when your character will be ready for play.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DESCRIBE IN YOUR CHARACTER SUBMISSION
This is what you need. First off the basics.
* Full Name
* Height
* Weight
* Gender
* Hometown
* a brief description of your character's background (what was his childhood like? how long has your character been a wrestler? What are other forms of training they have? and so on...whatever you can give me that I can work with.)
* Nickname (if any at all)
* Heel or Face?
* Weight class (featherweight=100-150 lbs, cruiserweight=150-200 lbs, light-heavyweight=200-240 lbs, heavyweight=240-285 lbs, superheavyweight=285-??? lbs)
You must also send us the statistics of your character. Let me explain a bit.
Some attributes vary with the weight class of a character. They are split into 8 categories. Let's be realistic (don't send in attributes that are ridiculous and put all the way up, you will be asked to redo or we will adjust it for you.)
* Strength - how strong your character is (cruiserweights will be lower while heavyweights will be much more higher.
* Submission - how good your character is at executing and reversing submission holds
* Technique - how good your character is at reversing holds and moves and countering them
* Durability - how much punishment your character is able to withstand
* Speed - how fast your character will walk, run, climbs, and sometimes executing moves (heavyweights will be lower than cruiserweights)
* Charisma - how much your character's personality attracts fans
* Hardcore - the ability to handle objects during hardcore matches
* Stamina - the ability to recover from beatings and performing power draining moves
Those are the attributes.
Now you must describe how your character will look. I'm going to need a full detailed description of your character. I'm the one who will create it on the game. So if you want your character to look how you want it, this is the way to do it.
But there is a different way. You can send a picture of maybe a real person you would like to base the character on. (Please no real wrestlers. I want this site to be as original as possible. No celebrities either.) You must have an original face and body to do this. If you would like to have a character that is based on yourself, then I will accept it too. This would be the coolest way to do this. If you have a character based on someone you know, make sure you have their permission to use their likeness. The last thing I need is a lawsuit. I'm already on the edge for using the video game.
The colour of their tights, knee pads, boots, do they wear one or two elbow pads or none at all, do they wear jeans in the ring, etc,. All this is important to create the character that you are comfortable with.
I must also need a list of signature moves your character likes to use. Such as...
* 2 finishing moves that your character loves to use. You can also pick one move as their finisher, but if your character likes to be abuse opponents with different sorts of moves each time then 2 would be good.
* 4-5 signature moves - these should be moves or holds that your character likes to use often. Like they like to use the same move in each match. (for example=Rob Van Dam uses a Five star frog splash as his finisher, but he almost always goes for rolling thunder in every match he's in.)
* 2 basic wrestling styles - these would be...
technical
submission expert
luchador
brawler
striker
hardcore
aerialist
Or a custom style that you want to create.(You must describe this in detail).
There will be more on this later.
THE PLAYING PROCESS
Okay, so you made the character and you submitted the information to us. Where do you come in?
Well first after you have sent me the character sheet of your character, don't expect to see him or her on the main show so fast. I have to first make the character in the game. This could take awhile to complete, due to us having to build the site and keep up with it too. It could go about three weeks before your character makes his or her TV debut.
But as soon as your submission is sent, your character will be sent to the house show circuit. This way your name will be shown without us having to use photos to show your character.
The house shows will give us an idea of where on the card you will be placed and how we will write you in to the storylines. Also expect your character to job the whole time he or she is on the house show circuit. Don't worry your win/loss records will not start until you have made your TV debut.
After your character is created in the game, he or she will be used in a minor role. When the character begins to win then he or she will get noticed by the NWC officials.
You will write an angle you want your character to be involved in. It will be reviewed by us and if it's to our liking we will accept it and use it as an ongoing storyline. When you write good accepted storylines you will have more emphasis on your character in the show. The more reliant your are as a player, the more you will be rewarded with major storylines and title reigns.
You will also be requires to send in your own promos (interviews) in the style of your character. As if your character was talking. Some promos you send may or may not be used. It depends on the creativity of your promos.
At some point, if you have proven to be realistic with your booking, you will be able to have full control of your character. You can pick the opponent you want to face, in the match you want for the title you want, in the storyline you want. Unless the main bookers (us) have another idea in mind.
Because you are a player, you will be used every week in the show. Guaranteed. If you are not reliable you will be suspended or you will be booked to job every week.
Remember your characters matches are determined by the computer's simulation. So even if your doing your best writing, winning that important match or title belt could be harder than you thought.
